Dear Sir or Madam,

I’m writing to garner support and funding for a non-profit organization that strives to reduce the number of people having chronic kidney disease and improve the overall health and wellbeing for those affected.

Lolita’s Kidney Foundation provides consultations for Hindu families who are collectively working through this disease. Various therapeutic methods such as meditation and life coaching are instrumental offerings while educating donors and loved ones is the corner stone of our services.

Lolita Yagnik’s brother suffered from two failed kidneys at the age of 24. Coming from a traditional Hindu family, her parents refused to allow her, an unmarried young woman, to sacrifice any part of her body for her brother. Lolita’s parents feared that her potential mate would view this as a flaw in his lady chosen. After years flying over seas to find matching donors in India, and three days per week on dialysis, Lolita had enough of seeing her family suffer. She selflessly and secretly visited a hospital Georgia in order to find out if she were a match with her brother for kidney donation. After scheduling the operation to take place on November 20th 2001, she calmly called her family and told them that the decision had been made.

Fast forward to 2015, Lolita and her brother are both doing well. Her brother now has a six year old boy of his own thanks to the careful consideration his sister took fifteen years ago. This disease is devastating, but with the support and understanding of family and friends and with the contributions from Lolita’s Kidney Foundation we hope to alleviate feelings of hopelessness and replace them with feelings of love and light. We can only reach these goals with generous donations from supporters like you.
